This Privacy Policy describes how VYKN LLC (“VYKN”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal information in connection with StudyAML.com and related services, including any mobile applications, forums, and enterprise offerings (collectively, the “Services”). It also explains the choices and rights available to you. 

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

 1. Scope & Controller

This Policy applies to personal information processed by VYKN in connection with the Services. VYKN LLC is the controller for processing activities described in this Policy, except where we act as a processor for an enterprise customer under a separate agreement (in which case the enterprise customer is the controller and its privacy terms apply). 

 2. Information We Collect

The types of information we collect depend on how you interact with the Services. 

2.1 Information You Provide 

  • Account & Profile Data: name, email address, password, profile photo/biography, country, job title/industry, preferences. 
  • Transaction & Billing Data: billing name, address, tax details (where applicable), and limited payment metadata from payment processors (we do not store full card numbers or CVV). 
  • Learning Data: courses enrolled, progress, completions, assessments, certificates, forum posts, messages, reviews, support interactions. 
  • Communications: inquiries to support, survey responses, promotions, or feedback. 

2.2 Information Collected Automatically 

  • System & Usage Data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, language, referring/exit pages, timestamps, feature usage, pages viewed, search queries, and approximate location (country/city) inferred from IP. 

2.3 Information from Third Parties 

  • Single Sign‑On / Social Login: data the provider shares (e.g., name, email) per your settings. 
  • Enterprise Customers: limited roster information for seat provisioning (name, email, role) provided by your employer or administrator. 
  • Analytics/Ad Partners: aggregated or pseudonymized data to help measure usage and campaign performance, subject to your choices. 

 

 3. How We Collect Information

  • Directly from you when you create an account, make a purchase, post in forums, or contact support. 
  • Automatically via cookies, pixels, SDKs, server logs, and similar technologies when you use the Services. 
  • From third parties such as SSO providers, enterprise administrators, analytics vendors, and payment processors. 

 

 4. How We Use Information (Purposes & Legal Bases)

We use personal information to: 

  • Provide and operate the Services (account creation, content access, progress tracking, certificates). Legal bases: performance of contract; legitimate interests. 
  • Process payments and prevent fraud (via payment processors). Legal bases: performance of contract; legitimate interests; legal obligations. 
  • Communicate with you (service messages, transactional emails, support). Legal bases: performance of contract; legitimate interests. 
  • Send marketing about courses and features (where permitted). Legal bases: consent where required; legitimate interests. You can opt out at any time. 
  • Improve and secure the Services (analytics, debugging, testing, monitoring, and preventing abuse). Legal bases: legitimate interests. 
  • Comply with laws and enforce terms, including sanctions/export, tax, recordkeeping, and responding to legal requests. Legal bases: legal obligations; legitimate interests. 

We do not sell personal information for money. We may engage in cross‑context behavioral advertising (as defined under U.S. state privacy laws) using cookies—see Section 6 and Section 10 for your choices. 

 

 5. How We Share Information

We share information with: 

  • Service Providers: payment processing, hosting, customer support, analytics, email delivery, security, and anti‑fraud. They must use data only per our instructions. 
  • Instructors / Content Contributors: limited learning and course interaction data for courses you access (e.g., enrollment status, progress), but not your email address unless you separately consent. 
  • Enterprise Customers: for enterprise users, we may share usage/learning metrics with your organization’s administrators according to the enterprise agreement. 
  • Legal & Compliance: to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, safety, and security. 
  • Business Transfers: in connection with mergers, acquisitions, financing, or asset sales. 
  • Aggregated/De‑identified Data: which does not identify you. 

We do not share full payment card data. Payment processors handle sensitive payment details according to their policies. 

 

 6. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to: 

  • Enable core functionality (authentication, security, fraud prevention); 
  • Remember preferences (e.g., language); 
  • Measure performance (analytics, A/B testing); 
  • Personalize marketing/ads where permitted. 

You can manage cookies via your browser settings and, where available, our cookie banner/preference center. Disabling certain cookies may impact functionality. See Section 10 for jurisdiction‑specific opt‑out mechanisms. 

 

 7. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information (e.g., TLS/SSL in transit, access controls, logging). No security measure is perfect; we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your account credentials and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access. 

 

 8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to deliver the Services and fulfill the purposes described, including: 

  • Account & Learning Data: retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. 
  • Transaction Records: retained as required by tax, accounting, and financial regulations. 
  • Support Communications: retained to improve services and for audit/compliance. 

 We may anonymize data for longer retention. 

 

 9. Your Rights & Choices

Your rights depend on your location. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also: 

  • Marketing Opt‑Out: unsubscribe via any marketing email or adjust preferences in your account. 
  • Cookie Choices: adjust browser settings and (where provided) our cookie preferences tool. 
  • Access/Deletion/Correction Requests: email privacy@studyaml.com. We may request verification and respond within the time required by law. 

If your data is controlled by an enterprise customer, please direct requests to your organization, or contact us and we will coordinate with the controller. 

 

10. Jurisdiction‑Specific Notices

California (CCPA/CPRA) 

  • Categories Collected: identifiers (e.g., name, email), commercial information (purchases), internet/network activity (usage, device data), geolocation (approximate), inferences (course interest segments), and professional/employment information (for enterprise contexts). 
  • Purposes: as described in Sections 4–6. 
  • Disclosures for Business Purposes: to service providers (hosting, payments, analytics, customer service), enterprise administrators, and as otherwise described in Section 5. 
  • Sale/Share: we do not sell personal information for money. We may “share” personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising via cookies. You can opt out using our cookie preferences (where available) or by emailing privacy@studyaml.com with subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”. 
  • Rights: right to know/access, delete, correct, portability, and to opt out of sale/share and certain profiling; right to non‑discrimination. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authorization. We will verify requests consistent with CCPA/CPRA. 

Nevada 

 We do not sell personal information as defined by Nevada law. Nevada residents may submit a sale opt‑out request to privacy@studyaml.com. 

EEA/UK (GDPR) 

  • Controller: VYKN LLC. 
  • Legal Bases: performance of contract, legitimate interests, consent (where required), legal obligations. 
  • Rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing (including direct marketing). You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. 
  • Complaints: you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. 

Australia 

 Australian users may contact us at privacy@studyaml.com regarding the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au). 

 

 11. International Transfers

We are headquartered in the United States and may transfer, store, and process information in the U.S. and other countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) and implement supplementary safeguards. 

We do not claim participation in any government‑administered data‑transfer certification program unless explicitly stated on our website. 

 

12. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not intended for individuals under the age of consent for online services in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@studyaml.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. 

 

 13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Services or email where feasible. Changes take effect on posting unless stated otherwise. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
